Welcome to The First Annual Improv Brier, brought to you by the Improv Guild! Now you may be thinking what on earth is an improv "Brier", don't I get enough curling on CBC? Well my friends, this is Tournament of Hearts. It's a no holds barred, full contact improv battle the likes of which this city has never seen! It's a tournament showcasing a competitive format that we've invented called "The Improv Bonspiel". And we invented it through a very scientific process we call beer.

First seen at the first annual Calgary Improv Festival Last October, our improv bonspiels are back in full force. March 12-14, you'll witness some of Calgary's finest improvisers go head to head with some great out of town teams like Rapid Fire from Edmonton and the General Fools from Regina. The winner of the competition will then be invited back to our second annual Calgary Improv Festival this fall. That's Calgary most prestigious and longest running improv festival! And if you need another reason to show up, Roman Danlyo, the star of CTV's Comedy Inc., will be flying in to host on opening night.
